                                       Harry Gruyaert

Born in Belgium in 1941.  For over 30 years Gruyaert has been from Belgium to Morocco and from India to Egypt, recording the subtle chromatic vibrations of eastern and western light.
He studied at The School for Photo and Cinema in Brussels.  He won the Kodak prize on his photographs he took in Morocco, which brought about the book with his photos from there.
Gruyaert has a vision of far away countries that locates the viewer within peculiar and somewhat impenetrable atmospheres.
He covered the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972.  In the same year he photographed some of the first Apollo flights.  Gruyaert joined Magnum in 1981.
Loves working with color, its more physical and touches your senses like smelling.
He loves digital prints he says " It's better suited to give color the means to assert its true existence."
